High performance,
low footprint leather.
All leather on this site is finished with L1 chemistry from Evolved By Nature. It outperforms basic petrochemical finishes in durability, water resistance, flexibility and breathability. It’s also carbon-reducing and doesn’t use PFAS or added cross-linkers, offering a more natural look and feel for your leather.

02 Carbon Reducing Polymer reduction + Energy reduction = CO2 reduction

03 Uses Zero PFAS
Polyfluoroalkyl substances are a set of man-made forever chemicals that can take thousands of years to biodegrade. That means they end up in the atmosphere, water systems and eventually our bodies where they can cause great harm. Not only does Activated Silk™ L1 use ZERO of these toxic chemicals, it outperforms them across the board, creating more durable, breathable and beautiful leather.

04 Biodegradable Water & Alcohol System
Activated Silk™ L1 uses a novel biodegradable water and alcohol system, which achieves a drastic reduction in VOC’s and off-gassing for your leather products and has major benefits for your business and your people.

05 More Natural Look & Feel
Activated Silk™ L1 gives your products a far more natural look and feel. It offers a superior finish for aniline, semi aniline and fully pigmented leather. Articles come in a variety of optics from very matte to very glossy and in any hand-feel from waxy, silky, dry or oily.

01Reduction in CO2 per 1M finished sq ft using spray coating application.
02Based on the emission intensity of the countries’ power mix. Assuming CO2 emissions from energy + manufacturing of polymer in traditional PU system = 5.86 g/sq ft for spray coat application.
03Based on the emission intensity of the countries’ power mix. Assuming CO2 emissions from energy + manufacturing of polymer in traditional PU system = 7.65 g/sq ft for spray coat application.
